2 entries in one day. =)
Some of my friends know that I am running an online business with my sister. Recently, we encountered this incident where the buyer did not receive his item although we have sent it out. And I wish to express my thoughts on this issue (as I am unable to reply this to the buyer).
First, we need to get our understanding of terms right.
What is the difference between normal and registered mail?
1) normal mail is sent to the letterbox of the addressee – lost mail will not be accounted for.
2) registered mail has to be signed received by the addressee and/or person at the stated address. and if none acknowledges the mail, a notice will be served, and the addressee is to self-collect/ retrieve the registered mail at the post office as advised.

I gotta admit that it is partly our fault, for not emphasizing on the website that the business is not responsible for any damaged or lost mail if the user opt for normal mail. But I thought everyone is supposed to know that? If not, why give the option between Normal and Registered mail?
Now, the buyer opt for normal mail, and as stated above on the definition of normal mail, our business, in fact, is NOT responsible for any lost mail. However, the buyer seems to be either too young to understand such terms or choose to ignore the fact. He even threatened to report this issue as a company fraud. HA. Very funny.
We have done our part as a seller and do not fear that you sue us. But because we are a business that aims for total customer satisfaction, we had to put down our individual’s dignity and offer a new piece of the item to you when we are not in the wrong. DAMN..
Nothing much we can do since it has already happened. Like what hamham mentioned, “take it as a learning experience”.
